Number of members present - 6. Number of
visitors - 1.
Old Business:
Our show went great! Thank you to all of the
volunteers we could not of done it without you! We had 201 horses enter
and only 3 vetted out. Our profit at this time is $7,930.00 although some
bills are still being paid. But at least we have a profit! Next year our
show will be moving to the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe, WA. The
dates will now be March 31st-April 3rd.
Treasure Report:
Our club had $441.28
Our show account has $36,097.61
New Business:
Kathy Van Buskirk had her hip replacement
surgery and we are told by her daughter that she is doing great! We voted
on sending her flowers and I hope by the time this is posted she will be
home and on the road to recovery!
Mary Jane went to the Region 5 meeting and
these are some of the key things they talked about.
Nationals will be held in Tulsa for the next
2 years.
Sport Horse Nationals will be at Napa this
year and then a 3 year contract in Lexington.
The World Equestrian Games will have Arabians
in the forefront thanks to the opening of the new Arabian Horse Museum at
the Kentucky Horse Park.
The Cascade Arabian Horse Club had a new
dressage ring.
There are a lot on youth activities being
planned with the soon to be new director Tammy Curry.
Region 5 is planning a BBQ and more fun
classes at there show.
We have been asked to sponsor garlands for
regionals, so we voted to sponsor 2 for performance and 2 for sport
horse.
We need to update the Region 5 directory with
our shows new information.
We need to contact someone on getting info on
applying for a grant to get money for promoting the Arabian breed.
Trail ride and camp out at the new Washington
State Horse Park in Cle Elum, WA, Friday Sept 10th- Sunday Sept
12th, 2010. Info should be the Region 5 website but I have a
form I will make copies of and bring to next meeting if you are
interested.
The next Region 5 meeting will be Sunday
Sept 12th after trail ride in Cle Elum.
Wine Tasting Ride first Saturday in October
in Yakima. 12 spots left but I don’t know who to contact?
